Homestead Cafe and Historical Old Cheese Factory.

Another walking adventure down the road to the Homestead Cafe and Historical Old Cheese Factory.

The Old Cheese Factory which is the historical Springfield Estate was established in 1860 and was originally a large cheese factory and farm in the area.

The Homestead Café is located at the Old Cheese Factory at 34 Homestead Road, Berwick. The Old Cheese Factory is open seven days a week, 10 am to 4 pm.

The Homestead Cafe is a beautiful old homestead building with dining areas in each of the rooms. The rooms are all cosy and intimate, full of beautiful gifts and treasures. Each room is very unique and different. There is a piano room, also a sitting room which would be great to just sit and have coffee or tea and read a book, and several other dining rooms.

I sat in a gorgeous room and enjoyed coffee and croissant  as an early lunch. The music was quiet and classical to start with, however it was drowned out by the rock music being played by the workman. I didn’t mind it was pleasant rock music, so I sat and enjoyed their music. It was pleasant  to sit and look around at all the nice beautiful ornaments, ceramics, giftware and old pictures. I then walked through each room admiring their beauty and uniqueness. I totally recommend this cafe. The cafe is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10-3pm and every fourth Saturday from 8am-12pm. Same fourth Sunday as the Farmers Market which is also on from 8am-12pm I also recommend going to the local Farmers Market lots of wonderful local produce for sale.

I then went outside and found a seat under a big tree to sit, look around and do some writing. It was a beautiful shady area to sit. I noticed lots of other seating area’s amongst the beautifully landscaped gardens.

I then walked through the beautifully landscaped gardens, past the lovely buildings used by community groups, watch the families and children enjoy the playground and picnic area. So many delightful things to see.

Many local community groups use the buildings at the Old Cheese Factory.

It is just a delightful place to visit, walk around and enjoy. Also lots of beautiful roses in the garden to look at.

It is free to visit and walk around in the gardens and enjoy the BBQ/picnic areas and playground.
