So many historical beautiful lovely buildings in Bendigo. It such a pretty country city to visit wish we had more time to look around and explore.

More school holiday this time visiting Bendigo. Lovely stay got to stay in a minors cottage in the centre of Bendigo, which meant more walking. This time it was wet and cold, still we grabbed our umbrellas and coats and set out to see the sights. First stop was the Bendigo visitors  centre and the post office gallery which is a   social history museum. At the Post Office Gallery we saw the 150 years of Rail in Bendigo and the Bendigo Brass Band exhibition.

We then spent the afternoon at the Bendigo Gallery looking at art. It was a beautiful gallery and we managed to spend a couple of hours admiring the interesting paintings and sculptures. Then we finished by having a yummy afternoon tea at the Gallery Cafe.

The Bendigo Gallery has a collection of 19th Century European Art and some Australian art from the 1800’s and also some Australian contemporary art. It also had an interesting collection of sculptures and ceramics.

We all enjoyed looking at the art including the boys.

Then we went back to our accommodation, had pizza for tea, and sat in front of an open fire playing cards, and listening to music. Delightful!
